Louise is currently available for online events, talks and workshops – please email requests to firstname.lastname@example.org
(When the country is not in lockdown) Louise attends, hosts and speaks at a number of events in Devon throughout the year, in and around Exeter, Torbay and Plymouth.
It’s always great to meet new people so please do come along whenever you’re in the South West! Please feel free to get in touch if you have a coworking or networking event that you would like Louise to attend or to discuss speaking opportunities.
However, these days we all seem to be getting more comfortable working at home on laptops and hand-held devices so, please join us online for support, career tips and networking in my facebook group: Your Dream Job Club.
Regular Online Events for Business Networking
You have to network to get work, so don’t be shy! There’s an online event to suit everyone so my advice is to join a few and decide which one suits your style. Then attend regularly so that you get to know people and they get to know you.
Laptop Friday Chat – Free
I host Laptop Friday Chat every Friday morning 10-Noon. You’re welcome to join us if you’re working from home, you’re a freelancer or you own your own business. Follow Laptop Friday on Twitter and join our facebook group too.
When we’re not in lockdown, we meet up for free and friendly coworking each week in various locations including Cafe 3 Sixty in Bovey Tracey, Devon. (See below.)
Look on Eventbrite for details of great events run by Devon Women In Business (monthly lunchtime events) and Your Partnerships which runs a variety of events all over the county and beyond. These organisations have all adapted to the current situation and are offering online networking opportunities via zoom.
“You never know who knows someone who needs what you do!”
Read this blog post if you’re feeling nervous about how to behave when you’re networking online. It’s called “How to get the most from online groups” – and the principles are the same in real life.
Free Monthly Career Clinic
This online event is monthly and it’s specifically for you if you’re looking to develop your career, get a promotion or change your job entirely. You can ask questions and listen to questions that others have asked. Sometimes, someone else will ask a question that you didn’t even know you needed to know the answer to!
I’m there live to answer your questions about your CV, LinkedIn and potential interviews.
Book your free ticket below.
This online event is held on the first Monday of the month at 6pm on zoom.
Louise has appeared on BBC Radio 5 Live on 6th October, on the Colin Murray Show, commenting on the impact of coronavirus and the need for individuals to adapt and maybe retrain. For a short period you can listen again. (Louise’s bit is at about 20 mins in and lasts for 10 mins.)
Before her move to Devon, Louise was a regular guest on BBC Radio Gloucestershire, often appearing with Dom Cotter on the Lunchbreak Show.
She has also been featured on The Knowing Your Business Show with Ian Gentles.
Please get in touch if you would like to interview Louise for your show or publication. Popular subjects include: employability, going self-employed, equality, redundancy, coworking, social media and of course the concept of your Dream Job!
“Louise presented at The Growing Gloucester Conference and her talk was entitled “How to use social media to grow your business without taking all day to do it!”
Today we all need to be visible online and someone like Louise is vital to you and me when it comes to understanding what has to be done…and without spending all day doing it!
She shared her knowledge and her expertise and I left the talk much wiser about this vital area of business development.”
fun and knowledgeable speaker
“I have had the pleasure of co-presenting beside Louise on two occasions, Louise speaks with passion and humour to share her very specialised knowledge with her audience. Her talks are accessible and leave you wanting to go out and update your social media accounts immediately! She even got the world biggest Twitter sceptic, me, on Twitter and actually enjoying it! The way she relates the high street to social media means you walk away with clarity about what you are trying to achieve on each platform.
If you want a fun, knowledgeable and confident speaker do not hesitate to book Louise.”
